Shamcey Supsup, 25, Philippines!

Tonight, it is Miss Universe pageant once again. Will we see Miss Philippines Shamcey Susup be called on as one of the 16 semifinalists in this year's Sao Paulo, Brazil edition?

Will we see Filipino pageant fans go crazy again once the country is called in in the Top 16?



All prayers now are for Shamcey Supsup, as she prepares for the Coronation Night. The Philippines hope to see their representative makes it for the second consecutive year after Maria Venus Raj ended up as 4th runner-up last year. The topnotcher of the worldwide Internet voting will take on the 16th spot in the semifinals.

Supsup, well-loved amongst her co-candidates and the Miss Universe Organization staff, makes it into the list of favorites amongst past Miss Universe winners, pageant sites, and amongst fans after she showed grace, class and freshness during the Preliminaries. We can only hope that the Preliminary judges agree with everyone who loves Shamcey.

The Philippines has produced two Miss Universe titleholders in the past: Gloria Diaz in 1969, and Margarita Moran in 1973. After 38 years, we hope that the University of the Philippines-Diliman Magna Cum Laude graduate and the July 2010 Board of Architecture licensure examinations topnotcher Shamcey Gurrea Supsup will clinch the country's third MU crown.
